Prof. Dr. Frank Keppler

Since 2014 Frank Keppler is a professor of Biogeochemistry at Heidelberg University’s Institute of Earth Sciences. Before that, he was head of the junior research group ‘ORCAS’ in the division of Atmospheric Chemistry at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemistry in Mainz.

Prof. Keppler’s expertise in biogeochemical cycles of greenhouse gases will be applied particularly in the beginning of the project (phase 1a). In the Bottom-up process mapping he will be responsible for identifying and quantifying regional greenhouse gas sources in order to gain a better understanding of the total greenhouse gas emissions.
